Friends, let's talk Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu...
It seems these days that terms like BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu), Muay Thai and (MMA) Mixed Martial Arts are becoming every day words. Events like the WEC, Bellator and UFC have helped bring popularity to a sport that is dear and near to my heart. By training in Jiu-Jitsu, I have reaped benefits that you need to experience firsthand in order to understand completely. You will undoubtedly become fit (both strength and cardio), you will become more agile, flexible, stronger, more coordinated, etc. The benefits to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are endless.
Having said all of that, if you don’t receive proper training, it won’t be a positive experience for you and you might give up on a martial art that is unique, gentle yet challenging and that goes at your pace. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu does not look at age, sex or physical shape….anyone from age 5-80 can learn and practice successfully given that you possess a desire to learn and more important, that you are taught properly.
I don't want you to be fooled by unqualified schools offering “grappling”, “submission fighting” or “mixed martial arts” training. Whether you train with me and my team, or you decide to train at another facility, please be aware of where you are training and with whom you are training. Ask the right questions... Here are some very basic questions that any school should be able to answer:
Are the instructors all black-belts or is it only the main instructor? At our school, all of our instructors are black-belts.
Do the instructors have competition experience? All of our instructors have ample competition experience and continue to compete on a consistent basis.
I've been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 20 years and my teachers, peers and training partners are some of the world’s best. In addition, I have competed nationally and internationally in over 100 events. I've been where you're at and if you come train with our team, we will work together so that you consistently progress and reach your goals. Your time, efforts and money are valuable. Don't waste your time (and money) learning what you don't need or learning at a pace that is too slow (or too fast!). We are not a "belt-mill"; you will earn your ranks through hard work and consistency, but my teaching style allows you to learn fast and effectively. You'll train and learn with some of the best in the sport.
If you are ready to learn Martial Arts, whether for exercise, for self-defense or to pursue a Mixed Martial Arts career; give Team Rebello Martial Arts & FItness a chance to be your school and your partner in success.
American Top Team
The #1 Martial Arts Academy for MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and, Fitness
In 2001, the seed was planted to form American Top Team (“ATT”).
The idea of building and training MMA fighters to the highest caliber had been born out of a small, cramped 900 sq. ft. store front academy in Boca Raton, Florida. A very small yet dedicated group began having great success in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts scene throughout Florida and internationally. What would take root from there is one of the best MMA teams in the World.
“In my opinion, American Top Team is the BEST MMA camp in the country!” – UFC Commentator Joe Rogan
ATT as it’s commonly referred to, has trained and developed over 100 plus fighters in the largest Mixed Martial Arts (“MMA”) organizations such as the UFC (“Ultimate Fighting Championship”), WEC, Strikeforce, Bellator, PRIDE, K-1, DREAMS and Sengoku.
That same knowledge, born out of hard work, perseverance, and dedication honed from our professional MMA fight team, has been passed down to our students who train in: MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (“BJJ”), Submission Grappling, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, Kids MMA, Women’s Fitness, and Self-Defense.
The American Top Team brand of MMA and Jiu-Jitsu has spread from South Florida to more than 60 martial arts academies, across 31 states, 3 countries and growing.
Our lineage can be traced back to the legendary Carlson Gracie. His vision, open-mind and, trademark aggressive attacking style has greatly influenced our development as martial artists.
