Instructor Carlos Diaz has studied Judo for more than 30 years, and Jiu Jitsu for 20 years this September has been professionally teaching for the past 11 years. Mr. Diaz has taken several athletes from white belts to contenders in some of the largest MMA events in the world to include the UFC, Bodogfight, and WEC. Since that time he has continued this student-instructor relationship. Mr. Diaz is fun-loving dynamic motivational instructor with a keen eye for a combination of technique, power, and conditioning.
I have had the pleasure of training at American Top Team for 10 months now and have to say that it has been an amazing eperience. Mr. Rafael Rebello is an outstanding teacher and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner. Mr. Rebello is very patient and thorough in the application of instruction that he gives. His attention to small details and body position mechanics and placement has allowed me to develop beyond my initial expectations. He is honest, patient, respectful, humorous, and has a level of integrity and energy. Mr. Rebello readily gives feedback and is always willing to go the extra mile and meet the students as needed. I have been involved in martial arts for 20 years and have had the pleasure of being influenced by many great instructors. I would like to say that I hold Mr. Rebello in the highest regard and he is one of the best all-around instructors I have ever had. I would highly recommend him both on a personal and professional level.
When talking about Rafael, Rafael Rebello it is hard to find words, and put words together to describe his talent. Not only his talent for Jiu-Jitsu but also his talent for teaching. His talent for sharing things and teaching others. It is not just because he went to school and has a degree in physical education, but it is something I believe he was truly born with. And with his gift, he applies care, determination, and love for this art he practices and teaches. He is truly something else, he teaches all ages from very young children to old adults. Rafael is the man, his classes are by far the best and one of the only if not the only one that teaches an 1 hour and 30mins of BJJ. He gives you undivided attention, he helps you, he makes you feel at home, he makes you laugh, he has respect and truly loves to share his talent with others. I grew up around BJJ and MMA, I've seen it from the day I was born to today, even though I only took interest to practice it a bit of a while ago which now I have a deep passion for BJJ, I still grew up around it, and in the middle of it. So I've seen lots of great BJJ teachers and athletes and really bad ones and Rafael truly is one of the best, he is an example to look up to. I am proud to say he is my coach. His class is also a super safe class, he somehow sees pretty much everything, he is always looking out for his students and helping them practice BJJ correctly. He explains and shows the BJJ moves in a way that makes it seem easier than you would think. He helps you achieve the goal, and helps you be able to hit the move correctly. I hope I was able to give you a glimpse of Rafael Rebello but there are truly no words to describe him and his teaching. Only if you practice BJJ with him, then you can truly see. He is the best instructor I have ever seen by far, not only in BJJ but in other sports as well. He is the best at what he does, he is the best at teaching. And even with all this he is still an amazing MMA and BJJ fighter, with much talent. He makes your jaw drop because what and how he does is just surprising. Even being the best he is still an honest, humble, loving guy, with a big heart. He keeps him self grounded and he always wants the best for his students. He surprises me everyday with his talent, knowledge, heart, mind, and more.
