Jiu Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport, and a self defense system that focuses on the concepts of fighting on the ground. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was formed from Kodokan Judo ground fighting (Ne-Waza) fundamentals that were taught to Carlos Gracie by master Mitsuyo Maeda. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu eventually came to be its own art through the experimentations, practices and, adaptation from the Judo knowledge of Carlos and Helio Gracie. They would then pass their knowledge onto their family.
BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique. This is done by taking the fight to the ground – most notably by applying joint-locks and choke holds to defeat your opponent. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be applied to sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi), Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition or, self-defense purposes. Sparring (commonly referred to as “rolling”) and live drilling play a major role in training. A premium is placed on performance and overall development on and off the mat. This is in relation to progress and ascension through its ranking system.

Muay Thai is a devastating striking art that blends techniques such as; kicks, knees, elbows, punches, and clinch work. Muay Thai (also known as Thai Boxing) is a fighting art that originated in Thailand (formerly Siam) 2000 years ago. Often called the “Toughest ring sport in the world” it is known for its powerful techniques of punching (boxing), elbows, knees, and kicks. The Muay Thai practitioner must have superior speed and conditioning through hard training.
Our Muay Thai Kickboxing class is perfect students of all skill levels. Through training students will develop their mental and physical conditioning. Just like all of our programs, our instructors are all professional fighters who have a wealth of experience. Classes will involve the use of shadowboxing, footwork, pad work, heavy bag training and, various partner coordination drills. Fighters all over the world seek Muay Thai to improve their effectiveness and give themselves the edge in the ring. Here at American Top Team this class is known for its intense fitness and conditioning. As well as martial technique and strategy. American Top Team Muay Thai is the perfect stand up striking class that provides the student with the tools they need for the ring, even though you may never fight.
The ATT Boxing training program teaches you a comprehensive boxing curriculum whether you want to keep fit, learn boxing as a skill, for self defense or participate in amateur bouts. The initial focus is foundation training that teaches you the fundamentals and the drills that cut the learning curve in half. From there you will learn boxing basics including correct stance, standard punching combinations, and essential defensive/offensive techniques followed by correct foot and hand placement, basic footwork and combinations, and how to move in the ring while throwing punches. We also incorporate strategy training, and proven conditioning methods to keep you fit to fight at all times.
We also offer Advanced Boxing Tech for clients who already have boxing experience and want to hone their skills.
Cross Fight Fitness describes its strength and conditioning program as a fusion of all the best training methods with the goal of improving fitness and quality of life. Movements such as sprinting, rowing, jumping rope, climbing rope, flipping tires, weightlifting, carrying heavy objects and, many body weight movements for a great variety of challenging workouts are combined. Equipment used includes war ropes, monkey bars, Thai pads, barbells, dumbbells, punching bags, pull-up bars, kettle bells, medicine balls and, boxes for various exercises.
These elements are mixed in numerous combinations to form workouts named and modeled after professional fighters. The aim of ‘Cross Fight Fitness’ is to physically prepare people for whatever life might throw at them. We use the workouts to measure our progress but it’s not about being stronger or faster than everyone else in the class, it’s about being “The Best YOU Can Be Individually!”
Submission grappling is similar to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, in that a lot of the same positions, submissions, and techniques are used and developed. The program combines elements from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Folkstyle Wrestling, Freestyle Wrestling, Judo and Sambo. One major difference is there is no kimono or gi used during the training. Students will wear rash guards with grappling shorts or board shorts designed not to tear during the training. Submission grappling is sometimes referred to as: submission wrestling, sport grappling or No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu. This is a great addition to our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or striking program. We also offer beginner programs to help get you started.
Judo is the most practiced martial art in the world and more countries compete in Judo in the Olympics than in any other sport. Both beginning and advanced students are welcome to participate. We have classes to accommodate young children starting at 5 years old through adults. Our United States Judo Federation certified black belt instructors will personally teach beginners the fundamentals of the sport. Advanced players will enjoy our vigorous randori sessions with visiting national competitors and advanced club members.
Members are privileged to compete in local, national and even international competitions. Judo is truly and international sport and is even more popular outside the United States. Students will learn, self discipline, sportsmanship, perseverance and will get in the best shape of their life. Competition is not required but students will train alongside top competitors.

5 Reasons Why You Should Take BJJ Private Lessons
Everyone knows that BJJ private lessons are available at every single school with pretty much every teacher, but most people don’t take them because they can be quite pricey. However, it’s not just a matter of money, it’s a matter of prioritization. Like with any expensive purchase, if you want it bad enough, you can find ways to afford it. This quick list is meant to help bump those of you that are indecisive about them, in the right direction to possibly invest in some private lessons. It doesn’t have to be weekly, it can even be once a month, but either way the benefits can be very useful.
1. You get an instructor’s full attention.
Sure, group classes are great because you get to train with all sorts of different people. However, with that benefit comes a major down side; a good teacher has to divide his time as fairly as possible between everyone in the class. So if you’re in a school full of 30-50 people per class, you’re going to have a hard time getting the most detail out of your professor. That’s why having his full attention in a private for 30 min to an hour is really valuable.
2. Learn as much deep detail as needed.
Another thing that’s great about private lessons is that you can take the time to dissect certain details that you would never have the chance to really get into in regular classes. As many people know, jiu-jitsu is all about detail, a slight angle change in any position can be a world of difference. So this is your chance to really get the details that your game has been missing.
3. Customizable help.
Usually, in regular classes, your professor does not take individual questions – there is a program that is followed and everyone sticks to it, and sure, you can ask your professor questions about what he is demonstrating, but you won’t have the chance to really look into your own game. In a private lesson, it’s all about you. You can write down a list of things that have been frustrating you and you can really work out those personal techniques you’ve been thinking about.
4. Get rolling time with your professor.
Another benefit of getting undivided attention is that you can get to roll with your teacher during your private lesson. A lot of teachers like to roll with their students during the regular group classes, however, in larger classes it will almost be impossible for the instructor to really get a chance to be with everyone. A private lesson will guarantee time where you can test yourself against your teacher and have him/her analyze your game better by feeling you roll.
5. Time flexibility.
